The successful candidate will provide commercial understanding to other teams, complete reviews of agreements, and develop positive relationships with third-party stakeholders. To help us successfully complete projects with a focus on pricing strategies and any other applicable business objectives, by reviewing and forecasting the performance of contracts for current and future periods to create detailed comparisons against targets for analysis purposes.
Primarily based at our Middlesbrough depot, additional travel will be required to visit relevant business unit locations and client sites throughout the Teesside region, with some lodging away from home when needed.
Main Responsibilities:
• Reviewing and forecasting the performance of contracts for current and future periods and comparison to targets.
• Lead regular calls to discuss strategy with senior stakeholders, comparing performance to prior forecasts.
• Create reporting to provide insight on performance.
• Implement ideas to improve the performance of the portfolio.
• Managing the supply chain: Managing the procurement of key subcontracts and ensuring contractual requirements are obtained
• Contract Management: Effective documentation control
• Implementing and promoting robust controls to maintain effective commercial management
• Preparing scheduled cost/value reporting
• Supporting the preparation of subcontractor orders
• Processing formal documentation in line with business management systems
Commercial Management:
• Draft and issue sub-contract notices (i.e. early warnings, delay notifications, payment schedules, contract commencement instructions, completion status, site instructions).
• Understand and support the external valuation process (including issuing to client, obtaining payment certificates, raising invoice requests, issuing invoices and supporting cashflow)
• Effectively manage the subcontract valuation process (including collating subcontractor applications, payment notices, and payment input)
• Undertake the month-end commercial reporting requirements
• Distribution of cost reports with supporting backup
• Support the completion of various commercial reports
• Issue minutes and follow up on actions arising from month-end reviews
• Develop and support the implementation of cost management interventions
• Management of regional WIP and Debt, tracking movement on a scheduled basis
• Management of regional Purchase Ledger
Contract Administration:
• Interpret and promote effective site-based commercial responsibilities
• Preparation, and issuing of subcontract tender enquiries
• Implement and administer a suite of project controls to aid effective commercial control (i.e. productivity reports, progress trackers, drawing registers).
• Co-ordinate and support Project Contract Reviews (arranging, preparing key documents, presenting information, collating minutes and distributing actions)
• Facilitating, with the support of site supervisors, effective site record management, including progress tracking, day-work control, plant records, drawings, variations, change controls, etc.
• Effectively manage information storage through company data systems
• Interface with site teams to obtain and process timesheets for regional employees
• Some travel required throughout the regions
