Health & Safety Manager

Extreme Scaffolding is an established Scaffolding & Access company currently turning over £6.5m per year. We serve a wide area from our base in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, including Stevenage, Letchworth, Bedford, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Greater London.
We have been in business providing high quality scaffolding services since 2004, and as we have grown, we have learnt from, and adapted to, our customers’ requirements and contracts. Our aim is to achieve steady growth through increased customers and repeat business, with a focus on supplying value for money through competitive pricing and a comprehensive service.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Health & Safety Manager at our head office in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. This role will require travel to our sites 3-4 days a week, with the remainder of time spent in the office.
Job Description
• Daily scaffold inspections
• Development, implementation, monitoring and review of all health & safety policies and procedures
• Ensuring the site safety by production of risk assessments and method statements
• Health and safety inductions and staff training
• Maintaining accurate records of health and safety incidents and accidents
• Making sure all insurance requirements pertaining to health and safety are adhered to
• Provide advice and guidance to the contracts team
• Set up audit and inspection schedules
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager or similar role
• Previous scaffolding experience would be advantageous
• Knowledge of report writing, root cause analysis, and risk assessment techniques
• NEBOSH or equivalent certification in Occupational Health and Safety
• Able to work individually as well as part of a team
• Punctual and reliable
• Good communicator verbally and written
