Job description

Connect Scaffolding are seeking a skilled and dedicated Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in our Commercial team and the wider business.

Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of multiple scaffolding projects from contract award to final account, including:

  • Negotiating contract terms, ensuring alignment with project scope, priced schedule, and management of commercial risk.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, colleagues, and all other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and rectify any obstacles that may arise, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements.
  • Work as a team with contracts managers and site supervisors to ensure projects are executed within budget and to customer programme.
  • Accurate documentation of change management, variations, and project updates.
  • Preparation of timely payment applications in line with contractual terms, and internal cost value reconciliation (CVR).
  • Maintain familiarity with the processes of estimating and tendering, valuing works complete.
  • Accurately forecast anticipated revenue for projects under your commercial control.
  • Ability to travel to site for valuing of works/account meetings.

Qualifications required

>Prior experience in Quantity Surveying role within the scaffolding or construction industry desirable but not essential. >Solid understanding of scaffolding systems, materials, and systems of work would be advantageous. >Strong analytical skills to accurately assess project costs and quantities to aid in pricing variations & valuing of works. > Excellent communication and negotiation skills. > Excellent with Microsoft Excel, and competent with the wider Microsoft Office suite. > Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Hours

40 hours per week; working hours discussed at interview
